April 11

Just some snapshots taken over the last few weeks of our life....

KEVIN and his (best) friend Thomas at Vans Skate Park. They open up the park on Sunday nights for bike riding.
JACOB out in the front yard - don't know which kid took this shot, but I kinda like it. The kids also discovered the video button on my camera, so when I figure out how to upload video to the blog, I will post one. Of course, that means also I gotta screen them for the birds and all. Kevin didn't think I would actually save the videos!MATTHEW with his friends from Cub Scouts.. we took a hike to the park and had a picnic / treasure hunt / bike races.
I went to Orlando last week for work, and on the last afternoon I was there, took a walk through Animal Kingdom with 60,000 of my closest friends. The next night I took the boys out for the evening at DCA, with only 20,000 of our closest friends. I go to the parks maybe twice a year, and I happen to go twice during spring break - what am I thinking?!?

Here's a pic of the boys under the Golden Gate Bridge...and a shot of Paradise Pier at dusk

Easter

Easter dawned bright and early this year.... and blistering hot! Weatherman reported a high of 93 degrees in Anaheim - not bad for the 3rd day of spring. The boys quickly gathered their eggs so they could jump into the jacuzzi.

Some pics from the day:

Sunday, Mar 2

The weather is actually feeling a little spring-like, so we took a short outing to Santiago Creek in Orange. Found some walking sticks and we walked under the 22 freeway, under some railroad tracks, through 3-foot high weeds, and in and out of the riverbed.

Found this really cool oak tree that Jacob immediately climbed up like a monkey. Kevin and Sam had a little harder time of it, but they climbed up, too.

Decided that we ought to get out in nature more often, so we will be back again. We will either come back here and stay longer, or check out the bike trail along the Santa Ana river.

President's Day Weekend

In a move to solve the never-ending problem of crap, I mean clothes, overtaking the boy's room, and to help stimulate the economy just a teensy bit, we went out and bought two new beds for Sam and Kevin. It also served as an exercise for them in learning to read vague directions (written somewhere in Asia) and put furniture together, so that one day when they get married, they can build shoe trees for their wives.

Matt and Kevin discover the versatility of allen wrenches
Matt wielding the drill that weighs as much as he does
Build one, start all over and build a second one
We also pulled up the last remaining piece of carpet, swept up the last of the kitty litter from the previous cat tenant, and moved the computer desk into the closet - guess painting in there will be the next project! Well, maybe after moving clothes around, taking out a dresser or two, and recuperating in general.

January 24

Quiet the last few weeks here in the ol' household. Lots of rain (even hail!) since the beginning of the year, a burst pipe under the house, and wet cats make for some lovely smells... so we are buying lots of air freshener around here.

Matt had a birthday on the 15th, one he shares with like six others in the family. Here he is checking out the new wallet to hold the big bucks he got from his two "good aunts". He loved it as much as the new pairs of jeans he got - the ones he tore the very next day on the swings during recess. Sigh...

Now here's a car that was parked next to Soak City - I passed it one morning while going to the pharmacy, and I had to turn around and go back to check it out again!! (Randy, are you missing a neighbor?) These folks have solved the problem of needing a trailer to haul all their junk - they just glued it to the sides of their truck!!

I Spy, with My Little Eye: a bicycle wheel, a hedge trimmer, a fan, a mirror, a crutch, a flourescent lightbulb, a steering column, a mirror, a ceiling fan blade, an inner tube, a bottle cap, a red poker chip, a halogen lamp, a Santa Claus, a jack-o-lantern, a jello mold, a rubber ducky, four table legs, a LP player, two computer motherboards, a desk lamp, and Minnie Mouse.

Can you??

I also added a couple new blogs on the right, take a look..
